Special Cuisine on Aidilfitri Celebration

Beef in spicy coconut gravy or famously known as “Rendang Daging” is the most popular dish for Muslim during Aidilfitri. Here, the recipe and how to cook 'rendang daging'.

Ingredients: Fresh galangal, fresh lemon grass, dried hot chilies, cinnamon, cloves, red pepper, onions, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, lime leaves, coconut milk and beef.

Firstly, peel and chop the galangal and cut the top of lemon grass. Crumble up red chilies and cinnamon into water plus with the cloves. After that, chop the onions, red pepper, ginger and garlic. Put into an electric blender and blend them until smooth.Put together the mixer paste, lemon grass, curry leaves and lime leaves and put into a wide non stick pan with the coconut milk. Bring to the boil, stirring it occasionally. Turn heat to medium and cook sauce for 15 minutes. Stir now and again to prevent curdling. Then, put in the meat (and salt if you like), bring to the boil, lower the heat and simmer for an hour, stirring from time to time. Continue cooking and stirring for 30 minutes or until the sauce is very thick and brown and the meat is tender. If the sauce begins to splatter too much cover loosely, make the rendang stir and cook until the sauce has disappeared. Lastly, remove rendang from the pan, place into a bowl and ready to serve.

Try it! It is delicious!

Motivation

MOTIVATION?? As we know, requires the foundation of hope. What is we want in or life? A better job? A new home? Good health? A happpy marriage? Whatever it is, it is available and we can have it. We can have anything we really want but we cannot have everything we want. Whatever the problem, crisis, or situation we may confronted with, it is crucial to keep our goal in focus while deciding on the action to take. So many people make the mistake of letting their ego or their emotions come between them and their goal. Initially, there may well be some sacrifice, perhaps less time available in which to relieve the tension, but quite shortly we will enjoy the rewards of achievement and success. MOTIVATE YOURSELF!!!

'Hari Raya' Mood.....

As all knows, it’s already 17 days of Ramadhan which only left almost 2 weeks of fasting day, where ‘Hari Raya’ is just around the corner. The mood of ‘Hari Raya’ is everywhere as we can hear people started humming and playing ‘raya’ song.

Some people take this opportunity to make extra money by doing business. Usually before ‘Hari Raya’ there will be big bazaar where they sell ‘Hari Raya’ stuffs such as traditional cloths, cookies, curtain and many more. Besides, they still sell foods for break fasting, where usually they open up their stall at 4 pm until 11 pm. This is the time where people do their shopping for ‘Hari Raya’ celebration.

Here in MICET, I believed all students are excited to go home as this is the time for them to gather with families and relatives. Some of them have already bought their bus-ticket to go back to their hometown. I’m sure that not only students, but MICET staffs also felt the same way. This ‘Raya’ mood make certain people counting down day by day to reach their hometown, which some might be in Kedah, Kelantan, Johor or maybe as far as Sarawak and Sabah.

Eventhough, we are excited to welcome this festive season everyone should be reminded, to take a good care of themselves and be careful with all their stuff. This is to make sure that everyone came back in one piece and having a happy moment with their family.

So, let counting down the day!!! Happy Ramadhan eve and keep counting for 'Hari Raya'.. =)

My Happiest Day of All!!!!!

Last 16th and 17th of August 2008, there was held the Universiti Kuala Lumpur 5th Convocation Day at Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Putrajaya. The occasion was celebrated happily by the graduate student, especially I.

The moment was unforgettable as it was one of the happiest days of my life. I have been honored to achieved and received my Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology in Bioprocess from UniKL Malaysian Institute of Chemical & Bioengineering Technology. Besides, I was very happy and thanked to my family as they came to support and celebrates me a well.

I was shocked when I got almost 5 bouquets of flowers. This is my first time in life to get so many flowers and being celebrated that way. At the convocation day, I also get to meet all my friends that have chosen different path, which some of them already get a job and some of them have further study in different places than mine.

This moment will always kept a bright spot in my heart, and now I’ve graduated from college for diploma and continued study in bachelor at the same place like before. It is still a long way to go and challenges are keeping waiting in front which will not be distracted to me to achieve success! So pray for the best, and ‘Insyallah’ the best will come to you.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SKIN SOFT?

You could put some thick wet oatmeal on your skin. Sounds weird, but it is about the best way to soften your skin. If you do not like that idea, then just stop by the lotion section of the store and look for something that states that it softens skin on the label.

No sun exposure, or as little as possible with SPF protection. Drink your daily water intake (try to drink half your weight in ounces - for example I weigh 174 pounds - 87 oz. of water each day). Make sure a diet high in vitamin C, A and E.

Also take a Lot of leafy green vegetables and fruit. I do not do this for soft skin, but healthy skin, and it extends to your hair, organs like your eyes, helps your heart and your digestive system too. You will start to look more attractive too.

Water is paramount, as is a healthy intake for fruits and vegetables which can reduce the amount of oxidative stress on the skin cells which result in a loss of elasticity and can induce wrinkles.

You can use face packs for it use yogurt and gram flour one teaspoon of gram flour and half of yogurt .Apply it and scrub softly for 5 minutes and then wash your face. It will help you in both ways in softer skin and soft hairs.

At night liberally use white petroleum jelly on your face. And every time you wash your face, do not dry it with the towel. Let it dry on its own. Do what I told you for one week and see the results. It is amazing!!!

English is Fun!!

Nowadays, English becomes important in our daily life. Without any knowledge in English, it is not easy to bear with the modernization and difficult to deal with others. Many people said, English is very complicated to learn. But, did u know learning is English is really fun and interesting.

Last week, for my Technical Communications lecture, we had learned about basic sentence structures. During the lecture, each student needs to construct a simple sentence. So, what is simple sentence? Simple sentence is a sentence made up by a combination of subject and verb. It may consist of only one subject with one verb or more than one subject with one verb. My sentence is “Aminah is going to the market in the early morning with her husband”.

From the simple sentence, we need to develop the sentence to compound sentence. Now, what is compound sentence? Compound sentence is a sentence made up of two or more simple sentences. It is usually joined by a comma and coordinating conjunction such as and, but, for, or, nor and join. If simple sentence made by only one verb, compound sentence is made up of two or more subject verb combinations. My sentence is “Aminah is going to the market in the early morning with her husband and on the way to the market they had an accident”.

Then, from the compound sentence, we need to develop the sentence to complex sentence. What is complex sentence? Complex sentence is a simple sentence combined with one or more clauses that cannot stand on their own. The clauses are joined by subordinators such as because, since, although, when, and while or relative pronouns such as that, why, and which. My sentence is “Aminah who is a very old woman is going to the market in the early morning with her husband and on the way to the market they had an accident when her husband tries to avoid from a car”.

Based on the three types of basic sentences above, don’t you think English is fun and interesting? From the very simple sentence which only consist one verb, you can develop the sentence become a complex sentence which is more details and easy to understand.

TIME...

We all need more of it. Twenty four hours seven in a day is just not enough. We consume a lot of time in a day to do our chores. Time to work, time to play, time for you, time for me and especially time for this project which is to create blog and post the interest topics.

Time is really the most precious thing of all. Surely, if you are as fit as an ox you might be able to achieve many things, and if you are wealthier you might not have to do anything at all. But just imagine what you could do with just one or two extra hours in a day? Just imagine??

Time is difficult to control but for life every step needs time. When we talk about time, don’t ever
set our mind thattime never enoughbut please think positive about time like this poem say…

When you keep saying you are busy,
Then you are never free.

When you keep saying you have no time,
Then you will never have time.

When you keep saying that you will do it tomorrow,
Then your tomorrow will never come.

Whatever happens in our life, time is really important. Just like the saying goestime is gold”….so, how about you friend?? Take your time for think deeply from the bottom of your heart about time.

This situation might gives some stress to them. When are they spending time for themselves? There are several ways, how to manage stress.

Identify the cause of the stress

First, relax your mind and then identify your problem. After that try to find a solution for the problem. Don’t run from a problem, try to solve it. Where there is will, there is a way.

Relaxation or exercises

Loosen up our muscles to release our stress by doing relaxation exercise on our hand, face, shoulder, stomach, tight and leg. So you are advise to do this exercise every day, at least 3 times a day. Then you can reduce the amount after you are expert.

“PREVENTION” is the perfect key to all diseases. Bad diets, unhealthy lifestyle and lack of healthy knowledge can effect the immune function. When our body do not receive basic nutrition needs, the immune system will be weakened and loose its ability to fight disease, Vegetable and fruits are good source of nutrient.

Is a Yes or is a No?

As world are moving towards modernisation and globalisation, we are served with many interesting issues. No matter in which part of the world, we are still talking about the same issues either in social problems, politics, war, entertainment, or even in sports.

Latest in Malaysian news, issues of homosexuality are been discuss widely. What is homosexual actually? According to Wikipedia, homosexuality refers to sexual behavior with or attraction to people of the same sex, or to her homosexual orientation.

On 17 July 2008, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Ng Yen Yen announced there will be the welfare aid for homosexual group in Malaysia. Her ministry had submitted a research paper to the cabinet a month ago on problems faced by homosexual. She had suggested that a special unit should be set up to tackle the issue.

She said as a Malaysian, we should not judge and discriminate based on sexual inclination. As long as we are Malaysian, we are entitled to receive welfare aid, especially the poor.

Are Malaysian ready to accept this suggestion? Every people have their own thought and opinion. As for me, there are good and bad in anything or everywhere. I'm sure Datuk Ng Yen Yen has the same thoughts. From this welfare, they might give a lots of help for this kind of group. But, how far this welfare will help? Or will this welfare bigger the population of homosexual group? So, as a Malaysian, give your comment or opinion regarding this matter. Maybe you will say "YES", but others will say "NO". But please not condemn this suggestion. So sharing your thoughts about this issue.
